Already from the beginning of April Ross Scott begins to delight us with news about projects that we all love so much. After reading the first news urgently We recommend that you read the first two links in the section "You can too"
Hello everyone, I have not just one for you, but whole TWO new episodes Civil Defense! For those who just joined, the last episode GO made me terribly disappointed with the engine Source and I said I won’t make videos on it anymore. Yes I thought so! I tried it out Unreal 3 Engine, Crytech 3 Egnine, Unigine, iClone, but in the end I settled on Smackdown Engine created Funkdoobiest Software. All future videos will be made using this engine.
Engine Smackdown does not limit me in creating the impossible, and I am sure that you will notice this in the following videos. I was even able to do work on it that was impossible on the engine Source due to its features related to light and manipulation of objects. With this engine, I create episodes in a few days, the same work would have previously taken me several months. Because I switched to it, I’m now way ahead of my schedule working on the film and have time to do a couple of short sequences GO. Let’s enjoy ourselves!
Civil defense:
Well, as many of you https://spinerocasino.co.uk/mobile-app/ might have guessed, yesterday’s video was not made on the new engine. It was a job Michael Brazzal, who deals with various game animations. He already wrote to me last year about the animation he created for Freeman’s Mind and I offered to help him with the video. It seems to me that this style of animation will be a good solution to the time problem, because creating animation this way is much faster than in 3D. The entire animation was completed in less than a week, although he worked tirelessly almost all this time. Due to time constraints, he wanted to convince me that this was not his best work and he could do much better.
It was originally going to be a triple feature, but the idea of doing another episode was scrapped to make sure it would come out on time. I have tons of ideas for GO in my head, these two seem to me to harmonize well with this type of animation. "Reception" was just a joke, one of those where I thought I wouldn’t lose anything by not rendering the video in 3D. "Lift" was one that I had been putting off for the past few years due to other projects. As long as "Lift" possible on Source, creating something like this without tricky lighting would require a LOT of tricks, and little is possible on Source.
The double chip was also a reminder of why I try to work around tight deadlines. While the animation was completed well ahead of schedule, the sound work was delayed and quite a lot of it was completed at the last minute by my editor and myself. There were at least four people who nagged me while making the video and it was really stressful to finish it on time. Meanwhile, while his name is not listed in the credits, "Chuck the Second" gets an honorable mention for the work done on sound balance, which was not completed in time due to various reasons.
Finally, work on GO and don’t study ANYONE animation is like a drug for me. I love writing and making videos, but animation tends to be a waste of time for me. While I will appreciate the cinematic quality of 3D graphics and consider it possible to work on other animation projects, as long as I don’t do the animation itself. Any idea that wouldn’t benefit much from 3D or anything else that needs a ton of resources can be turned into animation projects without trusted people being able to animate them themselves. I prefer 3D graphics, however, I would rather my ideas come out with some delay than not come out at all.
New Engine\Film:
Progress on films is slow, but encouraging. I definitely see a lot of positives in allowing yourself to write and develop a script, I think the obvious payoff is huge. I put a lot of effort into making sure the script is extremely well developed and is some of my best work, practice… even Hollywood doesn’t seem to do it most of the time.
About the engine, I actually did research on all the engines mentioned in the last post. Based on my own research, I decided to start working with Unreal 3 engine for several reasons:
– It seems a lot less buggy than when it launched and hopefully has a lot more functionality than it did Source
— I’ve seen machinima from other games successfully ported to it
— It seems to boast good support service, so I won’t guess what to do when there are problems
— Despite industry trends, he really NO NEED have blurry colors, the whole screen is a tinted color, and too much bloom everywhere. It is capable of producing very good graphics, so good that I don’t see the banal advantages of engines such as Crytech or Unigine.
However, I’m still learning the engine, which will take me some time. If you want to help with the project, the #1 thing I need at this stage is one or two dozen human models that support facial animation. It seems unrealistic to me to do it all from scratch, and variations of several standard models would be just the thing. I also heard that Poser or Daz Studio well equipped for this kind of work. If you have experience creating or modifying 3D model faces and would like to help with this project, please email me.
Freeman’s Mind:
More episodes RF should be out, next episode is about a quarter complete. I actually had another video planned for March, but again I finished filming (I don’t want to sound like a wanderer, but this is my lifestyle), which took up a lot of my time, and I also wanted to make sure that the video for April Fools’ Day would be released on time. Work will resume again very soon
